Gate Automation

At Oz Automation, we repair, service, supply and install automatic gates.  There are generally 2 types of gates: Sliding Gates and Swing Gates.

Our product range for gate automation includes:

  1. Gear motors for automatic sliding gate with weights of up to 500kg.
  2. Articulated operators for automatic swing gate with approximately 2m per leaf length.
  3. Linear operators for automatic swing gate with length between 1.8m to 3m per leaf length.
Sliding Gates

This type of gates are single gates with rollers at the bottom of the gate that runs a long a track.  Sliding gates are popular where space is crucial as they don’t take up much of the entrance space like the conventional swing gates.

Sliding Gate Operator

FAAC 740

This operator is ideal for the standard residential sliding gates with maximum weight of 500kg.  With a gearmotor and built in electronic equipment this unit can automates both new and existing sliding gate.  Safe anti-crushing protection is delivered by a control board directly controlling drive torque, however for peace of mind and extra safety an obstacle sensor is available.  There is an internal protection housing that covers the control board preventing it from insects and moisture damage which is a common problem in operator that doesn’t have control board housing cover.  There is no need for electric locks to be installed as the gearmotor is non-reversing so the operator will lock itself.  This operator has a manual function; in the event of a power failure a release device protected by a customised key allows manual operation of the gates.  This feature is secure and when perform it is done with ease unlike other operator available on the market.  This will ensure that in the case of an emergency you and your car are not lock in.

This is a new 24V sliding gate operator design for residential use for gates up to 400kg.  It is widely used when there is no access to mains power nearby the gate.  The transformer of this operator can be place near a power point from the house and 24V can be delivered to the gate safely.  This application is cost efficient and cost effective as it reduces the cost of getting an electrician coming to run mains power to the gate.  This operator has an integrated E720 electronic control board with anti-crushing system and virtual encoder for automatic reversing when obstructed.  The unit is robust and reliable , works on magnetic limit switches and has vibration and noise reduction.  It also has moving axis speed reduction principle which ramps up and down towards end of closing/opening for extra safety.

Swing Gates

Swing gate can be single or two leaf where they open with a rotation around a pivot point. Swing gates are hanged off gate hinges so it is important to have good hinges for these types of gates.  Most gate swings inward, however some gate do design specifically to swing outward.

Swing Gate Operator – Articulated Arm and Linear Actuator

FAAC 391

This is a 24V articulated arm operator for single gate leaf lengths up to 2m (2.5m with electric lock).  The articulated arm and gear motor mechanism makes this unit very reliable and also reduces maintenance requirement considerably.  This makes the 391 a practical and economical choice for automating gates on brick pillars.  Anti-crushing protection system is integrated on the control board so that the gate automatically reverses when it is obstructed.  It has good aesthetic design and compact with the built-in control board hidden away inside the housing of the motor.  This means no need for a separate control box to be installed  making the installation looking very neat and pleasant.

FAAC 418

This is a new 24V electro-mechanical operator for single-gate leaf lengths up to 2.3m(2.7m with electric lock).  It has integrated mechanical stops which reduces pressure exerted onto the gate when it is fully open/close.  This also means that an external stop on the ground in the middle of the driveway is not necessary thus reducing trip hazards for pedestrian coming in and out of the property.  The unit has a long stroke , 350mm as standard and 390mm without stopper making it more adaptable to various pillar dimensions.  It has fast opening and closing speed, when in operation would give an angular rotation speed of 4.9 degree per second.  It comes with a protective sheath over the worn screw for additional safety.

FAAC 415:

The 415 operator is available in Long and Short.  For swing gate with single leaf maximum length of 3m the 415 Short is recommended.  When the maximum length of a single leaf gate is 4m then the 415 Long is more appropriate.  The Short version are equipped with opening and closing limit switch to manage slow down and stopping point and can be used as stop or slow down command.  The high precision limit switches allow frontal adjustment and mechanical stops are not necessary for the 415 Short Unit.  The operator has non reversing system to ensure the gate is mechanically locked when the motor is not running.  It is also equipped with secure release system to allow manual movement of the gate in the event of a power failure.  The aluminium body is completely double coated for higher resistance to atmospheric agent to ensure a longer lasting product.
